Dolce & Gabbana enter baby clothes market

Mothers be aware high couture fashion for the little ones.
Today’s reports from the fashion world are suggesting that alpha house Dolce & Gabbana are set to create their first ever collections for babies. The line will be aimed at new-borns and young children up to the age of 10. Based on D&G’s ideology these garments will be stylish and slick to the core.

It seems the duo have taken inspiration from one of their siblings "I didn't know much about this world, but Domenico's brother has three children aged two to six," said Gabbana.

The line will consist of daywear, innerwear, beachwear, accessories and footwear. Both have stated that although the line will be quite similar to the D&G adult line but it will still maintain the key element of child wear practicality. Having had performed countless interviews with mothers the duo have said that they have obtain a vast amount of knowledge.

The line is hinted to have sequined party dress, mini suits and many more; it seems the pair are not compromising on the lavish end even though it’s just child’s play.

Fashion Bloggers finally get the ‘FRONT ROW’ respect

Bryan Boy amoungst fashion heavy hitters.
Scott Schuman one of the most renowned fashion blogger in the industry gave comments on how he was mortified when he was moved to the front row of a Dolce & Gabbana show. He spoke of how he was moved to the front row and how D&G moved moving print editors and senior buyers to the second row.

Dolce & Gabbana in a recent interview said ‘we know about the blogger, the power of the blogger because it talks with different sort of people’ also that it is important to maintain a relationship with the new generation.

Our note: Although this may have been a PR stunt on the duo’s part it seems that this may be a watershed moment for the industry, blogging sites like The Sartorialist, Bryanboy, Garancedore and many more have outshone the normal printing industries (they have a huge amount of following) and this form of recognition is greatly needed because a successful blog site can help form hundreds of thousands of readers opinions.

Bloggers have the ability to wield a lot of power, their followers tend to read their reviews of products and whether they give them the thumbs up or the thumbs down that can decide readers to buy or not buy. Bloggers like Bryan Boy have become a celebrity figure in their own rights, many actually choose to buy clothes that they have seen these bloggers wear.

As you can tell we are PRO bloggers.

However, it must be noted that although bloggers represent the times that we are in, it is not like they have been in the industry for the last 20 years it would be quite silly to discourage or even humiliate those who have built the fashion industry during the modern era by sitting them behind someone. We think that post-modern era of fashion will have its battle as there will be a fine line between where editors and bloggers seat.

Another fashion house in with another law suit!

It was only yesterday that we had heard that Gucci and Guess are under a legal battle, but now we find out Dolce and Gabbana have filed one as well suing a South-African seaside jewellery store called “Dolce and Banana”

The quick kill nature of the Luxury fashion line had not shown any remorse for the African business that has been running for 12years and has forced them to remain to just “Banana”.
Owner Mijou Beller pleaded “Dear Stefano, please let us be,” Beller pleaded via Twitter. “And visit us in Cape Town. I have always admired your famous sense of humour so present in your brand and in your designs. And although I appreciate that Dolce & Gabbana is a very successful commercial enterprise, I fail to understand why Dolce and Banana is a threat.”

Our note: We empathise with Mijou Beller that it may have taken him years to create his brand awareness for his company “Dolce and Banana” at the same time we feel companies should follow the unwritten code of not copying ones name of brand image. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have spent decades building the brand “Dolce and Gabbana”, and we feel that any business owner in any shape or form will try to ensure their image is attained to just them.
